When you want to put your beautiful chair in focus, not the construction, the solution is named Trumpet swivel. This swivel is mostly used for bigger lounge chairs and recliners.
The advantage of the Trumpet swivel is, among other things, that you do not necessarily need a separate base for the chair - simply use the Trumpet swivel by fastening it to a flat veneer plate to reach high stability for your lounge chair.
For stationary lounge models you are able to provide extra features with a self-returning base. The Trumpet swivel can be covered with upholstery as well, for a more traditional design.
